For guides and rangers

Put yourself on the Murchison Falls noticeboard

We list local guides and rangers by name, for free, on the park's own page. No commission, no operator in between. Fill this in once and travellers can find you directly. It takes about six minutes and most of it is tapping.

  • Free, and it stays free. If we ever charge for anything it will be a highlighted position, never a listing.
  • We do not take a cut of anything you earn. Travellers contact you, not us.
  • You can ask us to change or remove your profile at any time and we will do it the same week.
  • We check your licence number with the park authority before you go live. It is never published.
1 Who you are

This is the top of your profile.

Optional, but it is the thing travellers remember. Skip it if you would rather not.

One line. This is usually the best sentence on a profile.

In the field beats a passport photo. Standing next to your vehicle is perfect. We strip location data from every image before publishing.

Which parks do you guide in required

Pick more than one and your profile appears on each of those park pages.

For example Paraa, Masindi, Kichumbanyobo gate, Pakwach.

For example English, Luo, Swahili, French.

2 Your papers

Licence numbers are checked with the authority and never published. Your profile shows only that you are licensed, and by whom.

For example Uganda Wildlife Authority, Uganda Safari Guides Association.

Not published. We use it once to verify you, then it stays in our records.

Anything extra you are qualified for

We publish this. Travellers should know who you answer to.

3 What you are good at

This is what travellers filter on, so be specific rather than broad.

What do you actually guide required

A species, a subject or a corner of the park. "I know where the shoebills are in the delta" tells a traveller more than "all wildlife".

Who do you enjoy guiding

4 Your vehicle

Whether you have one changes what a traveller has to arrange, so we always show it.

For example Toyota Land Cruiser 78, Land Rover Defender.

What is on board

Where can you collect people

5 The part people actually read

All optional. Answer the ones you like and leave the rest. These are what make a profile sound like a person instead of a listing.

Nobody believes a guide whose answer is "the big five".

Two or three sentences. Take your time on this one, it is usually the reason someone picks you.

6 How people reach you

Include the country code. This is how most travellers will contact you.

Which of these may we publish required

A number, a range, or leave it as on request. Travellers strongly prefer a number, even a rough one.

For example year-round, or December to March and June to September.

7 Before you send it

We are still hooking this form up to our inbox. Until then, answer whatever you can in an email to hello@visitmurchisonfalls.com, attach your photo, and we will do the rest. You do not need to answer everything.

We read every submission ourselves. Expect a reply within a week, and a question or two if something is unclear. Nothing appears on the site until we have checked your licence with the authority and you have seen your profile.
